April 2015 Update

An insight into the restaurant on a monthly basis

Message from the Manager, Stacey Allum.

Well into Spring now; we hope you all had an enjoyable Easter weekend and enjoyed copious amounts of chocolate, it was a pleasure to see lots of familiar and unfamiliar faces over the Easter and half term period and great to see that our pre-cinema menu is becoming ever more popular for those ‘quick bites to eat’ before the film and those who prefer to eat early rather than later.

Now, two months under new ownership and, as promised, we are all pushing forward to make everything as good as we can whilst maintaining a relaxed atmosphere and enjoyable dining experience here at the Lighthouse. It has to be said though, a massive thank you to Max and Margaret for the restoration of our wind sheltered courtyard, now bursting with beautiful flowers, plants and herbs, we hope that our customers will enjoy some alfresco dining in the months to come.

Now, with the summer slowly creeping up on us, a busy April just gone and weekends becoming booked in advance we are all looking forward to an exciting season ahead.

As always don’t forget t o follow us on Facebook or Twitter and keep up to date with all our menus and any events on our website.

We return with an installment of the people of The Lighthouse, for the second time we’re interviewing a couple of regular customers, Mick & Linda!

Tell us a bit about yourself, a brief history of why you have been coming to Aldeburgh for so long

We’ve been coming to Aldeburgh for 30 years. We both enjoy Aldeburgh and what it’s surroundings has to offer.

What are your opinions on the Lighthouse?

We love The Lighthouse, its food and atmosphere. The front of house service is excellent! It must of been shortly after it first opened, we came here for breakfast!

What keeps you coming back to The Lighthouse?

Simply because we enjoy it!

What would you say was your favourite dish that we serve here at The Lighthouse?

No particular favourite as we usually have something different each time we come, but we do have a certain love for the risotto dishes and the Boozy Banana Pancake!

And finally, what would your perfect weekend be, here in Aldeburgh?

A sunny day, a couple of pints of Adnams and to finish off with a fine meal in The Lighthouse!

Thanks Mick & Linda, see you soon!

The Summer weather has continued and Aldeburgh is still booming with holiday makers, culture seekers and busy locals so we recommend booking to avoid disappointment, especially on a Saturday evening where we now open from 6.00pm every week until late October, we hope to see you soon.
