The Alde & Ore Estuary Trust was formed in 2013 and was incorporated to facilitate fundraising for the flood defences which will ensure that the walls of the estuary can withstand the strong tidal surges.
The trust is attempting to raise £12 million in which £5 million will be raised through a community share. This is where they are looking to you.
They have had events going on over the last couple of months which has been for fundraising and raising awareness for the future of the estuary if nothing is done about it.
To further these efforts, pubs are hosting a quiz on the 23rd November. Teams can be up to 8 people with it costing £5 per person. If you want more information, have a look at the information leaflet here – http://aoep.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/AOET-pub-quiz-flyer.pdf
If you wish to book onto any of the pub quiz, find the booking form here – http://aoep.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Pub-quiz-booking-form.pdf
The Alde & Ore Estuary Trust created a film to inform people of the issues that are arising, and how they plan to tackle them. It shows the beautiful Suffolk scenery and also the damage the surges are causing the estuary.
