Still going strong for over 25 years. The Lighthouse is a real boon to Aldeburgh locals, culture ventures, and holidaymakers alike.

Sam and the team at The Lighthouse Restaurant welcome every customer into a relaxed atmosphere which as a result makes them feel at home. In addition to the upstairs and downstairs eating location, the courtyard plays host in the summer months. The Lighthouse Aldeburgh offers a unique relaxed approach to eating out, with you dictating the pace of your evening.

The Lighthouse chefs work tirelessly to produce mouth-watering dishes for the Á la carte menus and, the lunch & pre-cinema menu. With the creations of the dishes, Head Chef Guy Welsh ensures that the ingredients for all his dishes are as local as possible. Much of the fish comes straight from the North Sea. The juicy steaks from KW Clarke in Bramfield sourced from Suffolk & Norfolk stock. And local salad leaves from Sue Allen in Thorpeness. Finally, to round off the perfect evening, The Lighthouse offers an extensive selection of tempting wines and local beers to compliment the dishes.

Lighthouse 77 Gin

Sam & Max are excited to announce that the restaurants very own gin, Lighthouse 77, has just been launched.

LH77 was created to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of The Lighthouse Restaurant Aldeburgh opening. With an abv of 43.9% (77 proof), the enlightening dry gin gives a sweet nose with a refreshing clean burst of Juniper, fennel, & liquorice.

Thirteen Botanics make up the gin with the inclusion of heather, a nod to Sam’s Grandmother who came from Scotland and the reason Sam used his favourite gin company, Pickerings, Edinburgh to distil the recipe and bring to life a flavoursome punchy fantastic gin.

Recommended with Mediterranean Fever-Tree tonic & a lime wedge or for a slightly sweeter taste elderflower Fever-Tree tonic
